We always recommend that you see a medical professional to make sure there is nothing seriously wrong.

What is a Hiatal Hernia?

When you swallow, your food passes down a long tube known as the esophagus into the stomach. This tube must pass through a muscle known as the diaphragm, which is located near the bottom of your rib cage.

This opening in the diaphragm, which permits the esophagus to pass through, is regulated by a sphincter muscle (or “valve”), which relaxes and opens, when we swallow, to permit the food to pass through the diaphragm and into the stomach. This sphincter or valve closes to prevent stomach acid from coming back up into the throat.

It is unfortunate however some people who are addicted to alcohol dont find help until it becomes too late and their health is at risk. Typically they don’t recognize they have a problem until its too late. Those who suffer the most are the people directly related to the alcoholic, the family. Find Out, What Are The Causes of Nosebleeds, And How To Stop Them

Some of the major causes of nosebleeds are as follows:-

-  poor clotting due to medications such as aspirin and warfarin;

- liver disease;

-  the membranes lining the nasal cavities become very thin, causing the blood vessels to be very close to the surface;

- rare causes, such as abnormal blood vessels in the nose and nasal cancers;

-  high blood pressure — this is very rarely a main contributing factor;

-  picking the nose, especially if it is dry inside.

Parents are naturally very concerned when their child has a nosebleed and often ask if they should make a trip to the hospital.

The criteria for deciding whether that trip to the hospital is necessary or not, is as follows:-

-   the nose is still bleeding significantly after 10 minutes of pressure on the nose;

-   you are having repeated episodes;

-   you are feeling dizzy or lightheaded and feeling like you are going to pass out;

-   rapid heart beat or trouble breathing;

-  they are spitting up or vomiting blood.

The excessive loss of blood from nosebleeds does not often occur.  However, that being said, you should still do everything you can immediately to stop the flow of blood.  If this nosebleed is coming from the posterior region as opposed to the anterior region of the nose, then the blood flow can be quite extensive and it has to be stopped as soon as possible.  An anterior nosebleed is much easier to handle.

Here are a few suggestions for stopping the bleed:-
