How To Make Money Now In Your Spare Time

Come the New Year and we can often find ourselves a bit short of ready cash. After all the excesses of Christmas and the frenzy of the January sales our bank balances will have taken quite a hit. That is why it could be worth using our spare time to make extra money and help to balance the family finances.

When it comes to making extra money, there are really only two ways, one is doing extra work, the other is selling the things you don’t need or the things you can make. If you already have a job then the latter would be the one that is probably easier.

Apart from your car, the most valuable items you probably have is jewellery. The price of gold and silver are quite high at the moment so this is probably a good time to sell. Bulky, plain pieces of gold will probably be easier to sell for just the gold content, whereas intricate designs, and those with precious stones may well be better sold into the second hand market. Always shop around to get the best price, remember that the price changes on a daily basis. Your local jeweller may well give you a decent price, better than those ‘cash converter’ shops that buy all sorts of things.

How to Stop Dog Barking Quick

A barking dog can be very annoying to everyone around. Not only are you irritated by it, but your neighbors can’t stand it either, and may report your dog if they get too fed up. Barking is a very natural and normal things for dogs though. You can’t stop a dog from wanting to bark, that is their form of communication. However, you can control a dog’s barking behavior.

There are several reasons why your dog may be barking:

1.      A dog that spends a lot of time by themselves may begin a barking habit because they are so bored, they’re trying to keep themselves entertained.
2.      It’s quite common for owners to accidentally train their dog to bark a lot, by being very inconsistent. Sometimes they reward their dog for barking – for instance, when there is a scary noise or a person getting a little too close to the house for comfort. In those cases, they make you feel safe, so you reward them. Then, other times, they annoy you by barking at things you don’t think are important, so you punish. This is very confusing to your dog, and doesn’t teach them anything useful.
3.      The most common reasons for a dog to bark are being scared, lonely, and/or they are defending their territory.
4.      A dog with a health problem causing them pain will tend to bark a lot.
