As I mentioned before, in rough times of crisis and economic struggle, we need to be surrounded of « happy » thoughts or items. This could be, as you can see in actual trends, colours, childlike motives or shapes, glittery paillettes or gold like imitations.

BUT, there’s one motif used in graphics and prints that really symbolises this urge to escape….the palm trees!  Call it whatever you want; beach/Hawaiian/tropical or exotic inspiration…you will see it everywhere!

With the narrow markups on grocery items, supermarkets have begun expanding their products to non-grocery items. These include low cost men’s tuxedos along with coordinating accessories such as the shirt and necktie for less than $100.00.

It’s certainly a very convenient method, but can buying a cheap tuxedo this way really be worth it? How can you decide?

First, consider how often you’ll need a tuxedo. If it’s going to be very infrequently, an inexpensive tuxedo may be acceptable. If a very occasional formal event is the only need, you probably don’t want to invest hundreds of dollars or more in a quality tuxedo.

For spring we normally long for something light, fresh and cheerful. How many times have you not seen pastel colours for spring and summer? Thinking of not only colours, joyful prints and graphics we also in this time of crisis NEED TO dream, we need to let our thoughts carry us far away. I recently heard that the TV shows most currently watched, are those who are “happy or dreamy” such as ridiculous kitsch movies of love, travel documentaries of exotic places and even those reality shows of  “finding your love in a paradise island etc…” (I’l write more about the palm tree trend later…)
So what does all of this mean? We need to dream, we need to be inspired of “ideal” situations or circumstances…
Considering all of this, let’s have a look at how this urge of happiness affects our clothes…
