Fashion in the Street of Paris,The classics are coming back
For fall/winter- 08, there is a big inspiration of everything a bit country, or nature, in a rough sense.. Western would be a good way of describing it. The multi checked shirts, (for men and women!) are everywhere this season! Not only on shirts, that’s only the “basic” of the checked items…Checked shoes, skirts, dresses, and accessories! This is also a perfect example of the “unisex-fashion”, that never can go wrong… The normally so masculine checked shirts, with the sleeves rolled up (a trendy detail, rolled up sleeves or pants!) is now a known fact for girls too!
The stripes also seems to hold on this season, especially seen on menswear, mostly on jersey-T-shirts, or knitted cardigans with long sleeves. And as I was saying earlier, colours are trendy even for men, don’t be surprised if you se men wearing pants in clear red or deep green…
Talking about western, there is an item that fits right in there…the jacket without sleeves, le gilet, that we are originally used to see as a 3piece-outfit, worn under a suit. This little garment is one of my favourites! On men and women! For fall -08 you will see them in different versions; long, short, knitted, as an elegant piece of a suit, and as an “everyday-thing” you simply put on with whatever you feel like..On a dress or why not with a pair of worn out jeans and a printed cotton T-shirt underneath..-it’s up to you to mix after your taste!
The classics are coming back for sure! Blazers, trench coats, and the classic black hat couldn’t be more perfect for fall, once again, for men and women…
The minimalism is here, and often you can see one colour in different tones, on the same outfit.
What else to add for fall 2008?
Shape-”building” and showing curves…is hot! And now I’m not at all talking about a deep decolltage that shows everything, but more like a shaping around the body. Dresses, pants and skirts are some of them in a balloon-shape, and others are just wrinkled where we naturally have shapes, in order to show them. Personally think this acceptance of shapes (even volumes that make you look rounder, or curvier than you are) has to do with accepting our bodies. Maybe we are now ready to let our bodies take space, and in the same time promoting movement and comfort! Without letting the glamorous side off of course..I’m not talking about a sloppy big tent to wear! There are many “pencil-skirts” (and very long ones) with extra focus on the curves of the hips, as well as skirts and dresses with a full big circle volume, you know the ones you always wanted as a little girl, if you were spinning around fast enough, your dress would become a circle around you..
Then there is also the shapes of the 80′s,where you can move freely and are totally relaxed in a rocky kind of way.
That’s all for now, I hope you enjoy the comfortable fashion of this season!
