Geometrical Shapes in 2009 Fashion
I don’t know if you have thought about it lately, but have you seen all the geometry around us?
Now, I’m not only talking about clothes, or accessories (loads!) but also in paintings, illustrations, and commercial posters? It’s huge!
You can always say that a garment is inspired of geometry, well of course we will find a number of triangles, rectangles and circles, but have you seen them this clearly before?
Just look at this top from “Andy & Debb” where the top actually has triangle shaped pleats, hanging vertically. Not to forget is also the sharp wide straps, defining a strong geometric base, to this fantastic top.
If we instead talk about circles, a circle-shaped skirt (balloon-skirts and so on..) have been seen for a long time . What’s new? Well, maybe this multi-circle skirt from Christopher Kane, where the circles come in degrading shapes, giving an even more round feeling to the skirt!
(And I guess you haven’t missed that all kinds of animal print is somehow hot again. I admit that this has never been my thing, leopard, tiger or other animal impressions on clothes..)
This photo also shows the strong light yellow on the top, worn together with a subtle, greyish yellow..All put together with a sharp orange on the shoes. Simply dare to match your favourite colours anyway you wish to!

The dress from Fendi is excellent! I love it! Just look on the triangle inspired shapes, not being to sharp or hard, but just a little bit rounded, which goes perfectly with this pale grey.
The upper chest part looks like transparent organza, just flowing around her shoulders. There is also another part in this fabric, showing a bit at the bottom of the skirt, just adding more sensitivity to the look, and making the entire dress look so exclusive, yet so fresh and cool.

No matter what kind of geometry suits you best, I’m sure that if you look around you, you’ll spot geometrical experiments everywhere!

I think that you have to be very thin to wear geometrical shape clothing, not for me I’m afraid!

Hi Stina, Where would I be without your posting from clothes capital of the world?
I was never good at mathematics at school but I feel I could handle these delicious pieces of geometry, especially that cute top by Andy and Debb.
I am looking forward to the next one.
