Colors, Colors And More Colors, By, Stina Lundberg
This summer in Paris I have seen lots of long dresses. The length goes all the way to the ground, sometimes in different layers of fabric. In many different color or prints of flowers, leaves, or abstract figures and shapes. They remind me a bit of the traditional African dresses, also strong in colors, and graphic shapes.
They are very interesting these dresses, there’s a total “relax-feeling” around them, not revealing too much, and looking comfortable. And they are all different! I think the long length will probably stay for next year too, or at least not become knee-length directly, but stay in between. And to be seen, not only on dresses, but on skirts too.
I love black, gray, green, dark blue and black again. To vary the different tones of these basics, is something I always do, without even thinking of which color I’m choosing..
For next year, and even now, there is a big big trend around colors! Or more precisely, there are many many concepts, and themes all about color! There has already been a period of blue, and I think it will continue…(all types of blue; deepblue, turquise-blue, navyblue, petrolblue..) We have seen a lot of green this winter, and as always black is a base to mix with any type of color or print.
The scale of gray is still a basic, and at the same time, the neon colors are explosing allover. Sharp greens, pinks, and yellows…
Suddenly the strong, sharp colors aren’t only seen on kids, but on all ages..
It was so funny, the other day I talked to a friend, and we both had exactly the same idea about the fall-season. When we think of fall-fashion, we think darkgreen, deep-purple, mustard-yellow and brown mid-tones. I think it must has something to do with what was often worn around fall when we were kids, and therefore we simply still see these colors as THE colors of fall.
Anyway, we’ll see for fall/winter this year, I believe that all kinds of colors will be pretty much “in”, and as usual for fall, they are darker than during summer.

Hem length has always been interesting to me even though I wear very few dresses these days. I love to explore what colors are in for the fall. Must be an interesting business to be into!

The french sure do have a sense of style and it’s great to know that color is ‘in’! it means we will be able to buy lots of lovely DIFFERENT coloured outfits this season.
