Algebra Homework
During high school, my absolute most dreaded subject was math. In particular, algebra homework practically gave me the case of the hives each and every time it was assigned. I wasn’t good at math to begin with, but algebra and algebra homework was something that I still wish to this day that I could have avoided. Algebra homework was the cause of my first and only detention during school. I was in high school and tried to sign myself out of school to go home because I had not done my homework. Of course the teacher caught on and I was immediately given a detention. Honestly at the time I didn’t think I was breaking any rules, but I must have been! I sat through that dumb detention thinking the algebra teacher screwed me over.
Let me tell you, that really made me love algebra and algebra homework even more! I was so excited to go to class the next day and eagerly awaited my algebra homework assignment, and again didn’t do it. My mom became fed up with me and insisted that I go to an in school tutor to assist me with my algebra homework during the day. I did, and it did somewhat help.
I was going from getting forty five percents on tests to about sixty five percent. So I suppose that was improvement. Honestly, though, the only reason I kept going to get help with my algebra homework was that the tutor was my semi-boyfriend’s mother. For some reason, I wanted to get an “in†with her and I figured spending that time during the school day with her would make her like me or something.
Looking back though, she probably thought I was a complete idiot and why in the hell did I care if my boyfriend’s mom liked me? She probably did end up liking me, which as probably the reason he broke up with me. I thought that one through! I just barely squeezed my way through that school year in algebra, and I have absolutely no idea how I learned anything because I never did my algebra homework.
Looking back, I’m not sure I did learn anything but all that matters is that I passed. I’m very glad that I married someone that is skilled in math, because in ten or twelve years when either of my sons brings home algebra homework it is going straight to him.
